The concept of this site (from here on will be referred to as BOOS), came to be some time after several people at a forum that I frequent started talking about making a help site for fan fiction writers and/or fan created Sailor Moon characters and was originaly called Book Of Offensive Senshi. The first inklings for this site, including the name/title, was created many months before I actually started creating the layout and started searching for a free site provider. The first actual layout went through several tweaks and changes before it was decided to stick the current layout.
BOOS was originally to be a site for listing ... well... offensive senshi. Not the opposite of defense, like in a game, but the type of offence that makes people wish that that certain senshi, character, concept was never created to begin with. For example; Sailor Savior, the senshi that I'm working on to add to this site, made me think that many people might get offended by her because she's a religious senshi (IE: The Heavenly Soldier of God). She is the main reason why I came up with this site, so she belongs here. Another concept for this site was to have people send me their own senshi that either they think could be offensive. But then I reconsidered the idea since I took a good look at my personal interest level, and past interests of other sites of mine. Needless to say, the idea got ditched. So, in short, the goal of BOOS went from a listing of senshi that were bound to offend people in some way, shape or form to being a site for my miscellanious Sailor Moon related items that didn't belong on their own prospective sites with Sailor Savior as the mascot.
The current layout is called It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere.... I gave it that title due to the fact that that's the first thing to came to my mind when trying to give the layout a theme title...It's also the title of a country song. I'm not sure the actual version number since I went through a few different variations with previous layouts...so I'm considering this to be version number three. Version 1 died before I got it out of mental production. The first working layout was called A Royal Mess. For the Royal Mess layout, I worked on everything except the background which came from Dubird's free graphics site, graphics by dubird. Many thanks go to Dubird for recommending using the background for this site during that layout. For version two: Transformation Sequence, I found a layout that I liked from a free layout templates site, Zymic. With some minor edits to the HTML, and a number of edits to the images (including using some brushes from Lush Brushes, Textures that came with my PaintShop Pro v.7 and an artbook image of Luna, though I only used the eye), I added some php scripts to make adding frequently asked questions (as infrequent as they are), adding sibling/affiliate sites and updates to the site easier. | |||||||||||
